About the Event
Thank you for taking the time to look into our shooting clinics! We are very excited to announce this class that will feature both Matt and Foster as shooting instructors. The benefit to you is extra eyes, experience, thoughts, and shooting strengths available while YOU create "Your Recipe".Â
We provide access to the club, lunch, as well as an experince that will be full of learning and growth tailored to a small group so everyone gets the most learning out of their time. Shooters are responsible for the expenses of their target and shell costs. We recommend you bringing your own gun, however, if you prefer to try out one of our Browning arsenal guns, we will be more than happy to arrange that.
We want you getting the most out of these clinics, not only becoming a better shooter by learning things on the field, but also learning about how to mentally prepare before you leave your home, to after you step off the line.
Our weather here in Rapid City can be unpredictable, but we will continue the clinic, so we reccomend you checking the weather before coming out to make sure you are 100% ready when you get out here. If you have shooting rain gear, please bring that along. We do have a local Scheels, Cabelas, and Wal-Mart, so there are options in case there are things that were forgotten or last minute items.
If flying, we reccomend purchasing travel insurance, with the unpredictability of weather, there is always a chance the clinic could be cancelled. If this is the case, the small fee of insurance would be well worth it. We will have a back-up date if there is bad weather during the clinic date.Â
Hotels are plentiful in Rapid City, feel free to book at your choosing.Â
The Rapid City Trap Club is located near the south end of town. Please have a rental car/transportation booked, we will not be responsible for picking you up unless discussed prior to clinic.
Theres a lot to see here in the beautiful Black Hills of SD. We recommend you taking a day or two extra to see sites such as Mount Rushmore, Sturgis Bike Rally location, the Badlands, Deadwood, etc...Â
Please plan on bringing items like: gun, vest, bag, hearing & eye protection, shells, a list of questions you have for us, as well as some problem areas and areas to focus on/what your goals are for the clinic, sunscreen, bugspray, rain jacket/wether appropriate attire. Again, we do have a local Scheels, Cabelas, and Wal-Mart, so there are plenty of options in case there are things that were forgotten.
We will be charging $295 per person for this 1 Day class, this includes both Matt and Foster's instruction. When you sign up for the clinic, we will be sending you a sheet to fill out on your areas of improvement and goals for the summer, etc.
Clinic will be set to start at 9:00 AM, we will start with a presentation & breakdown of specific questions and goals. We will start first with the singles discipline (pattern board avaiable if needed). After some shooting and specific goals being hit, we will go inside for lunch. We will provide pizza lunch, and will have snacks/water available throughout the event. During lunch, we will have a discussion on mental game/things learned and what works-what doesnt. Following this, we will get into another presentation that will break down Doubles and Handicap disciplines. Up to the shooter, you will have the option to work on doubles or handicap after that, and will continue to shoot and work on topics discussed. We will go in for another break with refreshments and a section on specifics regarding smaller items that can have a huge impact. We will continue shooting, and have a Annie Oakley to give everyone a mental break, and show the class some cool things on how small games like this can have a tremendous impact on breaking bad habits. If there are shooters who want to work on last minute areas of questions or goals, we will do this after the Annie Oakley. Â Class will finish approximately 5:30pm.
We want everyone feeling confident and accomplished with the day. Our goal is to have you leaving home with an unforgettable experience that will take your shooting to the next level. Please plan on bringing 2 flats (20 boxes) of shells with. On average, our students will shoot approx. 10-12 boxes of shells.
Again, any questions feel free to reach out.
Parents, as a courtesy, if you have a son or daughter that will be attending, feel free to stay to watch and learn, just know you will need to stay in the background. Our main goal is to give the best opportunity for our students/fellow shooters that are paying for this event to have a great experience, learn, and take home ideas that will excel them in shooting. We want our clinics being 100% positive and stress free, we are there to help our students/fellow shooters learn and grow.Â
